We had a nice lazy day in Vegas, hanging by the pool and watching a movie in our room in the afternoon (the kids are a bit TV deprived). In the evening we hooked up with my brother John, his wife Diane, and his daughter Maggie for dinner and a walk down the strip. We saw the Bellagio fountains and the eruption of the volcano at the Mirage. The kids got their pictures takes with a variety of folks in the street. The strip was pretty lively at 9 at night. Very family friendly, too. Where else can you get handed a flyer for an escort service while walking hand in hand with your 11 year old daughter down the street?
We are taking off this morning for Sequoia and Kings Canyon taking Maggie along. She is staying with us for a week or so and then will reunite with her father in San Francisco.
