Fires at Mesa Verde

Fires have repeatedly hit Mesa Verde over the last 25 years.  This is from one of the more recent fires.  The interesting thing is that the edges of a particular fire are really distinct as you drive through the park and see different vegetation.  The fire that created the pictured scene burned so quickly that the trees were killed, but not consumed.
