Hoover Dam and Vegas

We headed out of Zion this morning.  Sheila needed to remotely attend a meeting and needed good internet access, so we killed two birds with one stone at a laundromat with wifi.  We got caught up on laundry and Sheila had her meeting.  We then went to Vegas via the Hoover Dam.  The Dam was pretty irritating as the elevators to actually go into the dam were broken.  Of course, they didn't mention this until after you went through security (homeland security again).  The visitors center was a bit retro, veering pretty badly into propaganda about all the wonders that the Dam has created.

After the dam, we got into Vegas around dinner time.  After dinner we wandered down the strip a bit, which was pretty amusing.  Vegas is even more over the top than I expected.  Both Nat and Abby held my hand pretty much the whole time in defense against the crowds and the overall zaniness of the place.  That does not happen often.  I didn't have a camera at hand, so no pictures.  Perhaps tomorrow.
