Crazy Horse Memorial

Even crazier than the idea of putting president's heads on a mountain is the Crazy Horse Memorial.  The project is the vision of a Polish-American sculptor who worked on Mount Rushmore.  The goal is to carve a mounted Crazy Horse more or less out of a mountain.  It is *much* bigger than Mount Rushmore.  The face was finished after 50 years of work.  I expected it to be a little sad, but it is actually pretty vibrant in a weird way.  They are not at all interested in government money and are trying to make/raise all the money privately.  There is a huge Native American museum and lots of stuff going on.  There are laser light shows at night.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crazy_Horse_Memorial for more info.   I found the place genuinely interesting.
